A hole in your canopy or bladder ? The Windy Sam Repair Kit is designed to save your session! Sam gives you all the step-by-step tips for a successful repair!

How to use your Repair Kit
Replacing a kite or wing bladder (BA)
Equipment
2 thin ropes (old kite line), small flat screwdriver, talc
How ?
Dry place, sheltered from wind and sand
Remove the hose clips using the flat screwdriver, drive the valves into the leading edge so that they slide when you remove the old tube
Open the Velcro located on the ears and attach a line to the ends of the sausage (ear)
Open the central zip and carefully remove each side of the sausage.
Tip : position the intrados part of the BA upwards (the valve holes will be upwards)
Position your new accordion-style sausage, valve upwards, attach the line and talc
From the ear, gradually pull the sausage from the zip, the sausage must not resist (otherwise there is a risk of twisting)
Do not close the Velcro on the ear immediately.
Position the valves
Repeat the operation on the other side
Close the Velcro, folding the powdered end of the sausage back on itself
Don't forget to close the zip, and make sure to position the PVC flap, located under the zip, correctly.
Slightly inflate the sausage and massage
Check the position of the bead at the ears and each valve
Gradually apply pressure
Deflate completely
Re-inflate this time to the recommended pressure
Close the hose clips to isolate your BA from the slats and allow isolated control
No go!
If you have a hernia or are in doubt, start again, don't take any risks!

Micro leak or small hole
Equipment
Blenderm or tear-air patch A, soapy water, line (old kite line), talc, 90% alcohol or Essence F, hair dryer, transparent non-adhesive plastic (e.g. old piece of TPU sausage), scissors
How ?
Dry place, sheltered from wind and sand
Tip : I don't take the sausage apart directly.
BA or slat? I pressurize and insulate the slat
I first check the valves => if the valve is leaking, see the valve replacement section
If the valves are OK, I spray soapy water area by area.
If the leak is not visible, I extract the sausage, inflate it and either spray it with soapy water or immerse it in water.
When leak identified:
Dry and degrease using an alcohol or petrol patch F
Dry as much as possible.
Cut a piece of blenderm or tear aid A, if possible round the corners with scissors
If it is the beginning of a hernia or a cut, place a piece of thin plastic inside the sausage, so as not to stick the two sides of your sausage together (transparent packaging for example).
Reassembly is done as when replacing a sausage.
It is essential to check before going on the water. Safety first!
No go!
A larger tear on your leading edge requires welding or a flange replacement. A faulty valve must be replaced and cannot be repaired with Blenderm or Tear Aid.
